Bristol's reputation as a centre for excellence in matters green, and the dynamic growth of its green economy is underpinned by strong partnership working in the city.
It has a wealth of expertise on which public-private partnerships are being forged between Bristol's universities, businesses, public sector agencies and UK NGO's. Innovation and collaboration to share knowledge, build capacity, invest in new solutions, influence organisational change and encourage behavioural change are part of the mix required to bring about the transformations in our economy and society towards a low carbon future.
The Green Capital Momentum Group aims to harness the energy, ideas and contacts of individuals willing to collaborate in this way. Learn more about the Momentum Group and its role, and click here to find out how to join.
A small pot of funding for the Green Capital programme is currently provided by Bristol City Council. The programme is reviewed by the Momentum Group each year, new priorities agreed and projects selected for delivery, against agreed criteria and with reference to the Project Plan. Projects for 2009-10 include:
• The Green Capital Pledge business support programme (ongoing)
• A Peak oil Task Force (complete)
• Working with the Bristol Partnership to integrate green capital goals and activity (ongoing)
• Research work - EU Green Capital competition (complete)
