Communicating Progress

Organisations are encouraged to share their progress in implementing their action plans within 12 months of signing their Pledge.

The real benefit in reporting is to communicate what environmental initiatives you have implemented and how well these have worked.

For most organisations, their action plans will have focused on carbon management, resource efficiency or environmental business strategy implementation. For some, their action plans will have been in a support role to the Bristol Green Capital programme - helping facilitate knowledge-transfer, or offer services to enable others to improve their environmental performance.

We leave it to you to decide the level of detail you report. However where possible, we would ask you to report on your carbon emissions so that we can capture the contribution of pledgers to the citywide reduction target on carbon emissions.

We will reward organisations who provide a detailed report on their progress or who agree to work with others to share good practice, by helping you get the PR you deserve for your actions.

Our objectives:

  • To accelerate improvements in environmental practice by business and public sector organisations.
  • To facilitate the sharing of expertise and knowledge of what works and doesn't within our network.
  • To capture the contribution made by Pledgers to the citywide target on carbon reduction and waste diverted from   landfill.
  • To incentivise others to participate.

A simplified carbon calculator is available to help small businesses and newcomers start reporting carbon emissions. We also provide some guidance that you may find useful when reporting to Bristol Green Capital.
